This little marvel is also a fully functional sampler for DJs, allowing you to prepare sound effects or voice samples for your DJ work or live performance. REVIEW: Korg mini KAOSS Pad 2 – DJWORX

djworx.com

The Korg Mini Kaoss Pad 2 impresses with its 100 dynamic effects that outperform many DJ software options, making it a fun and budget-friendly addition to any DJ setup. However, its flimsy input/output connections and abysmal battery life hinder its practicality, especially for live gigs. The lack of an AC adapter and cumbersome interface, which forgets previous settings, add to the drawbacks. Despite its shortcomings, its attractive price and impressive effects make it worth considering for those looking to enhance their effects arsenal. Just don't expect it to replace more professional gear.

Korg Mini Kaoss Pad 2 and Kaossilator 2 Review - DJ TechTools

djtechtools.com

The Korg Mini Kaoss Pad 2 offers high sound quality and portability, making it a practical choice for DJs looking to add effects without breaking the bank. Its compact size and ability to record and play back audio via microSD cards add convenience, though the plastic casing lacks durability. However, the Kaossilator 2, while fun and experimental, is hindered by a rudimentary loop recording function and limited performance features. Both units suffer from low output volume and require microSD card formatting, but they provide a decent range of effects and sounds for casual use. Overall, the Mini Kaoss Pad 2 is a worthwhile addition for DJs, while the Kaossilator 2 remains more of a niche gadget.

Poor Build Quality

The amount of filters this thing offers is incredible but it doesn't have the build quality to be in the portable class. It'll fit into your pocket but can't handle normal wear and tear. I fumbled it while putting it on the table and broke the power button (plastic), fixed it, and then out of the blue the touch pad stopped working. I still have a GBA that I bought in the late 90s thats been through more at a comparable price. The broken power button was on me but the touch pad not working randomly is ridiculous.
