In this live performance at minute 21:05 (and many more) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sELxgrgaQUk you can see the Korg MiniKorg-700S being used by the keyboardist Hagni Gwon.
"I always wanted to get into electronic music, so I worked as a film editor to make as much money as possible. I bought a little 4?track recorder, a Korg 700S synth, and a little mini?mixer, and that was it. When I became happy with what I was doing I decided to bring out a record. I was just going to do 500 7?inch singles, but then I went to the Rough Trade shop [legendary indie record label and distribution company] and they said they would distribute it for me. I didn't really know what that meant then, but they said I should press up 2000, and they all went fairly quickly."
You can see the item in this video of Pitchfork Music Festival 2012 (and almost in all of their live performances). It can be seen 0:01 into this video. Johnny is in the right side.
Epworth is fond of the unheralded Minikorg 700S. "It's so easy to get interesting sounds out of it just by flipping a few buttons," he says. "I use it MIDI'd up, but I'll quite happily use it without, it's quite playable for creating little sound effects or whining Dr. Dre lead lines."
In an article from Sounds dated August 12, 1978, Phil Oakey is listed as using the Korg MiniKorg-700s synthesizer with The Human League.
Tyler Parkford uses the Korg MiniKorg-700s, as he mentioned in an interview with Perfect Circuit: "This last AM tour was probably the most eclectic setup since I tried to move away from the Nord and lean harder on analogue synths and electric pianos. That ended up being a little fortress made of a MiniMoog, a Hohner String Performer, a MaxiKorg, a Clav and a Wurlitzer, all going through a Lesley."
"If one record had a profound bearing at the beginning of my career then it was He's The Greatest Dancer by Sister Sledge. I bought this little Korg 700S and I used to play along to that in my room. Then I swapped that for a Korg Delta and got a couple of little chord books... C major... A min... I thought yeeahh! I'm there! This is it! A riff! Then I got involved in this band. I didn't really know that they didn't want me for my expert keyboard playing — they wanted me for my ideas."
