Sounds great, but maybe not for the price.

I think the Dead Horse sounds great for that modern 'punch in the gut' Metal sound. It adds some great articulation and attack to a high gain setup. However, in specs, it is a fairly simple overdrive, comparable to an Ibanez TS9, yet costing $169, while the TS9 costs $99 in the USA. (On Sweetwater's site. 4/1/2016) While the Dead Horse works smoothly, I'm skeptical of its price, given that the pedal is made from a fairly average enclosure with waterslide decal graphics, run-of-the-mill parts and a finish that chips fairly easily. In short, if you love the pedal's sound enough to spend that much money, go for it. However, if you want to pay for what you get in regards to quality, maybe other Overdrives are a better option.
