Description
The PRS 509 is the quintessential tool for musicians seeking versatility and precision in their electric guitar. Engineered with PRS's renowned craftsmanship, this guitar is a harmonious blend of form and function, designed to accommodate a myriad of musical genres. Its five-pickup configuration is not just a feature but a gateway to an expansive universe of tones. By integrating multiple humbucking and single-coil voices, it offers unparalleled flexibility, allowing you to seamlessly transition between styles with the flick of a switch.
Crafted from a carved figured maple top and a solid mahogany back and neck, the PRS 509 is built to resonate with warmth and clarity. The 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, complemented by jumbo frets, offers smooth playability and effortless vibrato, while the PRS Phase III locking tuners ensure your guitar stays in tune, no matter how intense your performance gets.
One of the standout features of the PRS 509 is its 25.25" scale length, which enhances the upper harmonic overtones, giving each note an extra layer of shimmer and sustain. The Gen III tremolo system, a hallmark of PRS innovation, provides rock-solid tuning stability and dynamic resonance, making it perfect for everything from subtle vibrato to more aggressive techniques.

In this video on N.Flying’s official YouTube channel, Hun introduces his PRS 509 model which he has named “Blue Moon”
Hun says that originally he had wanted the PRS 513 model however this has moved to the “private stock line” and thus has become more expensive.
He goes over the 5 pickups on the 509 model which can be used to create 9 different tones as opposed to the 513 model which can create 13 tones.
Hun compares the sound of this guitar to his well-known Fender 62 Telecaster custom. He specifically mentions playing “Songbird” and “Monster” on this PRS guitar
