In the "Tim Pierce Rig Rundown Guitar Gear & Studio Tour" video by Premier Guitar, Tim Pierce demonstrates his PRS 'DGT' Dave Grissom Signature guitar at approximately 18:25 minutes.
Rob Harris of Jamiroquai uses the PRS 'DGT' Dave Grissom Signature guitar to achieve a different sound on their new album, as shown in a video by PRS Guitars on Facebook.
Jimmy Herring uses the PRS 'DGT' Dave Grissom Signature guitar during Widespread Panic's annual performances at Panic en la Playa, as reported by Sam Berenson on L4LM. The DGT model, known for its separate volume controls for the bridge and neck pickups, allows Jimmy to achieve his distinctive sound by blending a touch of the neck pickup with the full bridge pickup. This choice may also be influenced by the need to rent guitars for performances in Mexico, due to restrictions on importing instruments with endangered rosewood.
Chris uses two PRS DGTs live, one in Gold and a second in White. Both guitars are tuned to C as explained at 1:31 in the video.
Mick: "I got it in 2008. "
"This just seemed to make perfect sense, because it does have a bit of Les Paul tonality about it. It's a little bit lighter, 'cause it's double-cutaway, obviously, and it has the trem, which brings a little bit of Strat into the picture."
"I started playing PRS in 1985, so the guitar was almost 25 years in the making. In 1991, when I was working with Mellencamp, I wanted a PRS that had a little more low end and a little less midrange, to add a more vintage character. I collaborated with Bonnie Lloyd, who was the artist-relations person, on a bunch of changes to a stock model. They made that guitar the McCarty, which became my guitar for many years, although I always got mine with a tremolo arm. That adds liveliness and a natural reverb to the tone."
