Critic Reviews

Reverend Jetstream 390 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Reverend Jetstream 390 impresses with its punchy soapbar pickups and versatile tone options, delivering a vintage vibe with modern playability. Its korina body offers a lighter alternative to mahogany, and the sleek neck profile ensures comfort. The guitar's unique tonal character shines through its P90 pickups, although the neck position can be overwhelmingly bass-heavy—easily tamed with the bass contour pot. While the middle "Strat-alike" positions may not hit the mark for everyone, the bridge pickup delivers classic bite and clarity. Overall, it's a great choice for those seeking something different from the standard single-coil or humbucker options.

Outstanding

Probably the best guitar I have ever played. If I was forced to play only one guitar for the rest of my life, this would be it. It does everything I could possibly need.

Love this guitar

This is an amazing and very versatile guitar, it's one of my main guitars. The 3 P90's offer a lot of cool sounds and very different from each other. You can dial in some great strat type sounds, works amazing with overdrive and distortion, and her cleans are awesome. The bass contour feature it's one of the best additions to a guitar, and the wilkinson trem works like a charm!

During the band's last pre-shutdown tour, Missy broke a string on her Strat (more on that one in a minute). She didn't have a backup and the opener let her borrow their Reverend. From the first chord, she was hooked. "The minute I plugged in this guitar, I looked around and said, 'What the fuck is this thing?!' [laughs] It sounded so good." She started investigating Reverend and quickly decided to treat herself to a brand-new Jetstream 390. While she only had the guitar for about a month when we filmed, she already appreciated how its Rev 9A5 P-90s were much quieter than her Strat single-coils.
