Body is not durable
I am a guitar player and wanted to buy the Squier FSR Mustang in Surf Green to mod into a potential signature. But, the body is so thin that the pickup screws fall out easily and the basswood body is not durable.

Best offset guitar in this price range.
Probably the cheapest Mustang you can get for this price, and surprisingly, it's good. The cheap-ass humbuckers sound quite well, especially on high-gain settings of the amp/drive pedal. Tuning pegs keep the tuning and overall intonation is good. The odd thing is that this guitar has an Affinity Jazzmaster bridge installed... better for the user then :) Especially considering that the Bullet series are the cheapest guitars you can get from Squier. Guitar itself is very light, approximately 3kgs, thanks to the thinner body. I got mine for ~150 bucks secondhand, and I have very big plans on modifying the hell out of it, so... yeah, great guitar anyway, I am still satisfied with the sound of it with the stock parts.
Edit 27.08.24: The guitar was successfully modified with all sorts of life improvement mods such as "bubba" bridge mod, pickup swap, killswitch installation and much more. I'm not planning to part ways with this guitar whatsoever, it's an absolute workhorse of mine.
Preferred Settings + Usage:
11-48 string gauge recommended.

Can't be beat for the price
I bought this at the start of quarantine because I wanted an offset but didn't want to pay an insane amount of money for one. If you're just starting out and looking for a beginner guitar you absolutely can not go wrong with the Bullet Mustang. The pickups sound great, it's insanely comfortable to hold and it plays like a dream. I'd recommend getting this guitar and a decent amp for your beginner's journey. I haven't had an issue with my tuning stability but it's something I see people mention so results may vary on your guitar.
I'd also recommend this guitar to people who've been playing for a while and want a solid modding platform for cheap. The body is excellent and it has the boat routing so you can do pretty much anything to it.
Pros: A lot of guitar for a small price. Pickups sound great. Super comfortable. Enjoyable to play.
Cons: Scratchy frets (this is a quick fix). Tuning stability (I don't have this issue, but I see it in a lot of reviews).
Overall: I paid 250 Canadian for this guitar brand new and next to my classic vibe 50s Telecaster, it's my favourite guitar. I've been playing off and on for about 18 years now and wish I had started on something like this.

Good for the price
I bought this as a cheap guitar to play around with. Out of the box it's not bad at all. 9-42 strings on a 24" scale guitar are a bit stupid though, in my opinion atleast.
The neck plays well with no sharp frets. The frets are also pretty well leveled for a guitar at this price point, some do have a little bit of corrosion however.
The bridge is cheap and nasty with very long screws that could make intonation awkward to get perfect. It was well intonated out of the box with only G needing slight adjustment.
The pickups all sound okay, not really great though but I wouldn't expect that at this price. They will be good enough for someone who's just starting though.
The machine heads are half decent and seem to hold tune well but I will be getting roller strings Ts as the strings tend to bind in the ones fitted causing tuning instability at times.
I have replaced the pickups and cheap electronics and electronics. Opting for an Tonerider Octane alnico 8 in the bridge and an Tonerider Birmingham alnico 5 in the neck which has given the guitar the sound that I want. I've also put on a set of Ernie Ball Titanium coated 10-52s which are much better than the 9s fitted but may put 11s on

Shockingly good for the price.
This guitar should not be as good as it is. It is mass produced using the cheapest hardware, electronics, and wood, yet it is acceptably well-crafted and doesn't really feel any worse in the hand than the more expensive Squier Mustangs and Jaguars. The large 'swimming pool' routing makes it versatile for modifying. You're not going to tour the world with these guitars, but for a beginner, someone who wants to give 24" short scale a try without investing a lot of money, or anyone who wants a cheap 'base' guitar to try out modifications on, this is a really good option.

I really Like this guitar. Being a cheap guitar, there are down sides, but overall a great guitar.
I think this guitar is a great beginner guitar, but anyone can really use it. being a Squire, it's cheap, around 190 US dollars. I've had this guitar for just over a year now and it's great! I do recommend this guitar for sure.
