In 2009, Taylor Swift's signature model, the Taylor Swift Baby Taylor (TSBT), was introduced as a collaboration between the singer-songwriter and Taylor Guitars. The release of this model is a continuation of Swift's relationship with the brand, as she frequently uses, plays, and records with other Taylor Guitars.
The TBST is based on Taylor's Baby Taylor model, which Swift used in her early days of touring and writing songs. She says, "I used to sit in the back seat of the rental car while I was on my radio tour at 16, writing songs on my Baby Taylor guitar... I love the sound, and I love those memories."
In terms of the inspiration and motivation for releasing a signature model, Swift says, "I wanted to share my passion for playing guitar with my fans... For a beginner, finding the right guitar can be intimidating, but this guitar, it's the perfect size. Even if you've been playing for years, it's a great size to travel with."
The TBST has a 3/4-size Dreadnought body, and is crafted from a resilient sapele laminate body with a solid Sitka spruce top. Around the soundhole is adorned with Swift’s custom design, her expression "Love, Love, Love" amongst vines. Her signature is also inscribed between the soundhole and the bridge.
