Critic Reviews

Tech 21 SansAmp Classic

soundonsound.com

The Tech 21 SansAmp Classic shines as a versatile, all-analog amp and speaker simulator, delivering zero-latency and tube-like warmth that's cherished in many iconic recordings. Its unique DIP switch controls offer a broad tonal palette, making it a standout for high-gain guitar sounds and even non-guitar sources. However, its learning curve may deter those seeking plug-and-play simplicity, and some may find its bass response lacking. Yet, for those seeking authentic, dynamic response in a DI setting, it remains a beloved choice despite the proliferation of modern digital modelers. A true classic, indeed!

Distortion with a distinct flavour. I prefer this one over any other distortion.

it is what it is

I had one of these at one point.... never bonded with it as a DI or a dirt box. I vastly preferred the GT2.... also, the dip switches on this thing were so irritating. Skip.

its a very very great pedal... you dont need to use a tank to kill a mosquito... you know what i mean...

cloudtapes

Tons of options.

I'm still getting to know this pedal, but I'm loving the variety of tonal options. Supposed to also work really well for other instruments.

" In terms of what I get the most use out of, I would say that Boss pedal. I use it in almost every song for something. The only other pedals I own are a Sans Amp & a blue MXR distortion pedal. I don’t have a lot of gear. I have a cheap guitar & a Roland synthesizer. The practice space we go to has pedals and amps and we use those too."
