Drivegate DG-1 pedal | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Top Tone Drivegate DG-1 is a distortion pedal that impresses with its fat, raucous drive tone and long sustain, capturing the essence of Dave Gilmour's lead sound. Priced at $340, it justifies its boutique price with a robust metal casing, true bypass, and low power consumption. However, the premium price might deter some buyers. Overall, it's a highly admired pedal with notable endorsements from guitarists Jamie Humphries, Dave Kilminster, and Jason Sidwell.

Best pedal for play Pink Floyd songs

Top Tone DG-1 is in my opinion the best pedal for play Pink Floyd songs. I have others like Pete Cornich's pedal G2 and the EHX Big Muff (many models). For my ears the Top Tone DG-1 sound is much more dynamic, rich of clarity and full of harmonics. Probably because it is a true bypass pedal.

Mr. Bonomassa would benifit from the punch in that pedal and the Bluebird Overdrive by Mad Professor for those wubtle transitions . . .
