Features and functionality

  • The "mix button" enables parallel compression, turning the gain knob into a mix control for blending dry and compressed signals.

    Source

Softube Weiss DS1-MK3 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Weiss DS1-Mk3 by Softube delivers a near-flawless digital emulation of the legendary hardware, offering pristine transparency and powerful punch. With new RMS and True Peak limiter modes, it excels in versatility and dynamic control, making it a potent tool for mastering. However, its interface is marred by a cumbersome preset browser, and the high price tag may deter some. Overall, for those with the expertise and budget, it's a top-tier choice for serious audio engineers.

"got this one in last week, and ive been noodling around on it a fair bit today... defo one of the best digital compressor type deals ive had a go with. Been having a blast nuking the crap out of stuff 1000:1 (which im sure is an insult to the fine sculpting capabilities on this thing) going to start using it alot i think, either as an insert or on my master chain (where it should probably belong) . I dont normally rant about HW often, but this ones definatley impressed me! great work Weiss!"
