Critic Reviews

Lexicon MX200

soundonsound.com

The Lexicon MX200 impresses as a budget-friendly multi-effects processor, boasting classic Lexicon reverb sounds and versatile effects routing. Its ability to integrate with DAW software for control and automation makes it user-friendly, especially for those with limited CPU power. While the unit's limitations include a maximum 48kHz sample rate and some automation quirks in Logic, its performance is commendable given the price. The MX200 offers good effect quality and ease of use, making it attractive for musicians seeking affordable hardware that bridges the gap between traditional outboard gear and modern software environments.

positive

Lexicon MX200 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Lexicon MX200 offers good value as a reliable multi-effects unit, boasting quality reverb, modulation, and delay effects. Its standout feature is the ability to integrate with computer software via USB, allowing for desktop editing and VST/AU plugin functionality. However, the PC software editor is noted as unreliable, and the overall utility of the desktop editor is questioned due to its limited controls. While it doesn't offer full USB audio support, the MX200 excels in live sound applications and provides a cost-effective alternative to pricier options.

a super aLex

This is like the old Alex budget multi effector with more engines, ins and outs and better conversion.... the aLex still sounds great in its own way though and I recommend both. For the price they are worth having even if you're a bedroom producer who never plays out. I have multiple aLexes and MX00s at this point. I scoop them up left and right for peanuts. Better sounding than comparable TC multi effects racks, particularly for reverbs. Although TC has interesting plates (gold, tin etc) thata re diffferent than the lexicon plates. If you want blade runner halls and plates look here though.Good to have both.

molifir

Cheap and easy to use

I recommend it for any low-budget musicians, but I wouldn't if you are looking for any other effect than reverbs and delays.
