Nice drive pedal!

It is often referred to as a Boss BD-clone. It has the advantage of a Treble and Bass control which makes it more versatile. It can be compared with the recently hyped Bad Monkey, but I think it's even more versatile because it has a bigger range for Level and Gain. I had to get used to it, first I didn't like it that much because of the crackling tail when you let a chord ring out to the end. But that is only if you have it stand-alone with very low gain in front of a clean amp. When it's used as a boost in front of an amp on the edge of break up it really shines. Also makes a good high-gain drive for bluesrock-soloing. Overall a very versatile and good sounding pedal of which I am glad I didn't sell after the first tryout.

Cheap and Cheerful

Does exactly what it says on the tin; nothing special, but equally nothing to turn your nose up at. Plenty of gain, great as a slightly dirty boost. That's what I was using it for, but that's become a bit redundant now I have a Soul Food (even though this is made in the Tube Screamer mould) - still, I really appreciate the 2 band EQ! Many a pedal could stand to have that extra bit of control on board

uncannyadam

On it's own it's great, before a higher gain distortion is amazing.

On it's own it has a nice amount of gain and boost to push some nice bluesy lead tones out of my amp. I also use it to fatten up my DOD Gunslinger in a pinch. Can't really find any faults, I bought it new way back in the day and it's worth every penny now to me as then.

Alternative for Blues Driver

This is very close to Boss BD-2 so for that price it is incredible value.

Pros and Cons

Useful pedal for a slight overdrive to push clean tones somewhere else, but try to push beyond that and you are in danger of going very thin and pedal noise becomes prohibitive.
