Grant Nicholas uses a custom "Jazzbird" guitar, crafted by Combat Guitars in Japan. This unique instrument combines a Firebird body with a Jazzmaster neck and is equipped with Tom Holmes Humbuckers. A distinctive Combat logo replaces the usual Firebird emblem on the pickguard, and the headstock features a multicolored Playboy bunny design. A photo on Flickr showcases Grant with this guitar, further highlighting its distinctive features.
From Grants Facebook discussion; "Mainly a 60's Vox Ac30 and a 70's Fender Twin and my old Marshall for some tracking .. I used to use an old ADA guitar preamp and various Electro Harmonic , MXR and Boss pedals. I still use pretty much the same with Feeder but not using the ADA anymore."
Grant Nicholas clarified on Instagram that the guitar in question is a 1966 Fender Jazzmaster with block inlays, not a 1978 model. A user-uploaded photo supports this claim.
