This is an effective compressor with a vintage character. It can be used before the drive to increase sustain during solos, or near the end of the signal chain to balance the overall sound, depending on your preference. It is a popular pedal for balancing the sound on guitars with a bright tone and prominent treble, as well as for achieving the right balance between slap and strumming on bass guitars.
