Since I can't afford a Neumann U-47...
This mic sounds great on my vocals. Run it through an Avalon VT-737sp or a Universal Audio 6176 and you've got yourself a spectacular microphone for a fraction of the cost of the U-47... which still makes it pretty expensive, but affordably so
