    Source
  • A high-pass filter switch on the AT2035 reduces low-frequency noise, such as wind rumble, making it suitable for outdoor or less controlled environments.

    Source
  • When purchased new, the AT2035 comes with a shock mount, which aids in minimizing mechanical noise transmission compared to the basic screw attach elbow joint of the AT2020.

    Source
  • The AT2035 is significantly more sensitive than the AT2020, reportedly about 6dB more, which could reduce the need to max out gain on interfaces like the Focusrite Clarett.

    Source

Comparisons

  • The AT2035 is a large diaphragm condenser, offering a more sensitive pickup than the AT2020, which is a medium diaphragm, enhancing its suitability for detailed vocal recordings.

    Source
  • The Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 allows separate volume control for headphones and speakers, unlike the Solo, which requires manual switching.

    Source
  • Behringer UMC22 is noted for lower latency and better preamp quality compared to the Scarlett, according to users who own both.

    Source

Software and compatibility

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • Studio monitors, often confused with speakers, provide accurate sound monitoring, beneficial for long sessions without headphones.

    Source
  • The AT2035's sensitivity and included shock mount make it suitable for setups where the mic needs to be moved during use, such as on articulating arms.

    Source
  • For noisy environments, the AT2035's low-pass filter can help manage ambient noise, although for the best results in loud settings, a headset might be preferable.

    Source

Build quality

  • The AT2035 comes with a carrying case, offering better protection compared to the AT2020's soft bag for those storing or frequently transporting the mic.

    Source

User experience

  • The AT2035's enhanced sensitivity is beneficial for recording deep voices, providing a higher signal-to-noise ratio and better dynamic range.

Audio-Technica AT2035 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Audio-Technica AT2035 shines as a versatile, budget-friendly option for home studios. Praised for its solid build and quality sound, it's great for vocals and instruments, and can handle loud sources with ease. However, it faces stiff competition in its price range and offers only a single polar pattern, which may limit flexibility for some users. Overall, it's a reliable choice for those with an audio interface, offering impressive performance without breaking the bank.

positive

Audio-Technica AT2035 & 2050

soundonsound.com

Audio-Technica’s AT2035 mic is a solid upgrade from the AT2020, offering improved performance with welcome features like a high-pass filter and a 10dB pad. It maintains the same warm, vintage-inspired sound with a smooth high-end, making it a great choice for vocals, acoustic, and electric instruments. The mic handles high sound pressure levels well and is built to a high standard, including a practical shockmount. While lacking the AT2050's versatility with its multiple polar patterns, the AT2035's value and reliability make it an excellent budget-friendly studio option.

Decent starter mic.

Not the bets, but it's definitely great and I recommend this for those who are starting out in music production.

Good Price

Despite for the longest time having my eyes set on a few more expensive mics, the quality I've gotten out of this thing is amazing. It is really clear with no distortion in the levels I have used it for. No weird compression sound, pretty natural and the sound I get with the proximity effect of the mic up close sounds really good to my tastes.

lucsilvs

The best starter mic you can get.

For starting out with a home studio, I bought this mic, and was truly impressed. If you know how to perfect your sound, you're good to go. This mic is very quiet, and very crisp and clear. A little mastering is required, as with any microphone, but apart from that, you're good!

blondguru

Great for the Price

Eventually I'll upgrade, but this thing gets the job done real well, crystal clear. It's a great mic and won't break the bank.

galvinpatrick

Great sounding microphones!

Very crisp and deeper in depth for vocals and instruments like guitar. The package includes the shock mount and it's stand converter. This is highly recommended for YouTuber, independent musician and pod casters. It's better than it's older brother 'AT2020'.

fabiomuzik

Affordable with excelent performance mic!

I got this mic to record voice and acoustic guitars. To voice it's a very nice mic to this range of price.

Great Mic

Great mic. Definately an upgrade from my Samson C01U. Reasonable price without having to shell out an arm and leg.
