Amazing!
Is there enough space to write how I feel about Mainstage? Hands down - AWESOME!!! So versitle and easy to use and the instruments are incredible. Editing and tweeking sounds is a breeze. Not only use Logic Pro and Garage Band, but you can also add other VSTs. Buy an inexpensive USB to MIDI converter cable and connect older Midi synth (my Korg DS-8, 01Wfd, Akai AX60) to combine internal sounds and mix with MainStage is so powerful and inexpensive solution! I love the feel of my old synths and they are more rugged then most USB controller keyboards out today. In fact, I have had four keyboard running from MainStage via USB and MIDI/USB running at one time without any latency! Using the internal sounds from the keyboards mixed with the virtual sounds from MainStage gives you limitless choices to match a sound from a recording your are learning for your next band practice or coming up with very unique voice for your own project. Not expensive, so why not add it to your Mac?

MainStage3
MainStage was one of the biggest reasons I choose to use a Mac. I can easily turn mastered tracks in Logic into a fully playable song/show as all instruments/VTS's available in Logic are in MainStage. I Also use it for all my bass and guitar effects and use it for live looping.

The ultimate live rig
Synth rack, guitar amps & fx, vocal fx, sampler. I use it in sync with Ableton Live 9 through IAC internal midi driver in OSX to automate the scenes changes and on/off fxs or instruments.

“So 10 of the players were running the S61 keyboards and two were using the 88-note ones, plus there was the one that Gillian has. Again she had exactly the same setup, with a laptop running MainStage and the Komplete Audio 6 supplying the audio from the laptop, but with Gillian there was a bit of a hybrid situation. She likes the Native Instrument keyboards and now uses the S88 weighted one, but she has still been using the odd thing from the Fantom and Mopho."
In this Premier Guitar Rig Rundown feature, we see that Gill's guitar rig includes two MacBook Pro laptops, each running Apple's Mainstage software.
In this video, Roger mentions that he uses Mainstage to complement the sounds from his Roland RD-2000.
At 0:33 in this video, Sigala can be seen running Apple MainStage on the laptop to the right of him. Due to the date of this video, it can be assumed the version of MainStage Sigala is using is version 3.
"Not an option, so we kept buying Fantom X8s on Ebay to replace broken ones until THEY started to fail and finally decided to switch to a system that has built-in redundancy, the world of laptops and Native Instruments Kontakt running in MainStage. It still meant that we had to spend months importing all the sounds them into the new system, but for the last time!!! I have to confess something, we employed a tech geek to do it for us, I couldn’t face doing it again myself!!"
A Macbook with MainStage is visible in Andrew's setup at several later Tally Hall concerts (2009-2011), MainStage was also used by Andrew during the recording of Tally Hall's Good & Evil.
For orchestral stuff, there’s great libraries around, although some of the streaming libraries are so big and so unwieldly that I’d like to get smaller versions of them. So I’m sticking with that, and a lot of combinations of things. I still use the Akai S5000 software, although I’ve now got a couple of versions of Apple MainStage, and they’re playing some samples and doing some sounds.
