So I’ve had a dirty boost other than the VIV requested many times and it prompted me to design something different. I find there are a LOT of “transparent” boosts out there and for the most part that is accurate but it’s also common for them to decrease low end to some extent to “tighten” the sound. BLACKHAWK loves low end and having the full range available so this simple one knob boost brings the heaviness! I’ve added gain and tone trim pots so you can either get some added gain out of it and smooth the highs of that added gain but each MORGUL BOOST will be pre-tweaked to perfection (so take a photo before you start going for it with the trim pots) The gain is from a single CA3130EZ opamp in the blackened version which out of all the ones I’ve tried has the best articulation, gain and compression for this circuit. The black version comes with a 741 opamp which is a very straightforward opamp with lower compression. Because of the simplicity of this circuit I’m going to make it my most affordable one yet.
