    Source

Use cases and applications

  • The pedal excels with synths and vocals, especially as a modular send with a CV to expression cable for modulation.

    Source
  • It's recommended to use the MOOD MKII for adding textures post-arrangement rather than as a songwriting starter.

    Source
  • The Slip mode is favored for creating pseudo-sitar sounds and glitchy, delayed reverse effects, especially in solos and ambient pads between songs.

    Source

Comparisons

  • The Chase Bliss Audio MOOD MKII is compared to DAW plugins, where manual editing offers more control over sound textures.

    Source
  • Mood MKII is praised for its ability to create complex sequences by routing recordings between the Looper and Wet effects, unlike the more granular-focused Microcosm.

    Source

Value and pricing

  • Some users find the $400 price tag unjustified unless the pedal's unique features are crucial to their music-making process.

    Source

Software and compatibility

  • Sending MIDI from a sequencer or drum machine allows the MOOD MKII to function like automated effects in a DAW, enhancing the practicality of the micro looper during performances.

Critic Reviews

Chase Bliss Mood MkII review: A knob-twiddler’s delight

guitar.com

The Chase Bliss Mood MKII is not just an effects pedal; it's an expansive tool for sonic exploration. With its unique blend of ambient soundscaping and looping capabilities, this pedal offers delightful creative flexibility. The addition of stereo output and overdubbing enhances its functionality, making it an enticing option for adventurous musicians. However, the always-on nature of the micro-looper may frustrate those who prefer more control over playback. While some may find the pedal’s complexity daunting or unnecessary, its ability to produce captivating and unpredictable textures ensures it stands out in the crowded effects market. Overall, for those ready to dive deep into sound manipulation, the Mood MKII is an exquisite, if niche, addition to any rig.

Nice improvements

Just as mental as the last one but now in stereo. The ability to change the clock settings on the MKII is a massive improvement, even if I love the noisy clock of the MKI

Amazing

For me it is a pedal that I use as if it were an experimental toy. I find it very inspiring and creative. For me, its use with a midi controller is essential. The learning curve is high but it is worth studying the manual and the midi implementation to achieve spectacular sounds.
