Description

The Custom Muff is a pedal built on the basis of the most classic Big Muff with silicon clipping, but with variations specifically designed to make its sound rich of mids but without low-frequency rumbling.

The Custom Muff is a reinterpretation of a classic which allows you to exit the mass of sound in any group and under any conditions. It’s a real marvel of rock sound and it can be easily matched to guitars with humbuckers or single coil magnets. It has devastating levels of gain and a super high-definition. Used to solos, the Custom Muff produces a very rich and cutting through the mix sound, playing chords or power chords instead, it is able to raise up some real walls of sound.

In front of a tube amp, and even a solid state amp, you can get an unforgettable experience. Despite the considerable levels of gain that you can get, the pedal keeps very quiet thanks to an excellent selection of components, especially transistors, and to the many arrangements made to the circuit.

The tone control was achieved with a balance circuit, which allows adjustment to always find the most suitable settings in every situation, and the clipping circuit has some silicon diodes.

The CostaLab Custom Muff is equipped with a mechanical "true bypass" switching system and with an anti-pop filter too.

The unit is powered by 9 DC volts and is connected by the classic DC 2.1 mm plug with negative pole-center. The current draw is less than 20 mA. The unit can also operate with a 9-volt battery. In this case the circuit is on by the input jack.

In order to save the battery life it is recommended to remove the input jack from the socket when you stop using it. You can still keep the battery inside the pedal even when it is powered through the DC socket, for the external power supply system is able to automatically rule out the battery.

The unit is 118x60x34mm not counting the knob and the jacks.
