Critic Reviews

DJ-10 Grilled Cheese Distortion Review: I can imagine it would sound great with funk. | Danelectro | Guitar Effects | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Danelectro DJ-10 Grilled Cheese Distortion is a budget-friendly pedal with a unique '50s vibe, offering a satisfactory sound for rock and potentially funk. While it's simple to use with basic controls, its sound isn't versatile, likened to a "long empty tunnel." It's reliable if powered with a DC plug rather than batteries, but lacks appeal for metal players. Its distinctive yellow color may not be to everyone's taste, and while it's dependable, it's not a must-have for those seeking more diverse tones. Overall, it's a niche choice best tried in-store first.

DJ-10 Grilled Cheese Distortion Review: As long as you dont turn the level all the way... | Danelectro | Guitar Effects | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Danelectro DJ-10 Grilled Cheese Distortion offers a quirky, compact take on rock and blues distortion but comes with caveats. It's notably noisy unless dialed down, potentially overshadowing your guitar's sound. While it excels in rock and metal genres if the levels are managed, the absence of knob markings can frustrate precise settings. Its durability is solid, though its battery life is disappointingly short, necessitating a power adapter for reliable use. Easy to setup and ideal for stacking multiple distortions, it's a versatile choice for diverse styles. Overall, it's a mixed bag: charming yet flawed.

fun little pedal.

I haven't had one of these in years, but I always loved it. It's definitely a quirky little bugger, like a fuzz into a notched wah. It's really nice for guitar solos, though.

Great for it's price!

Picked this thing up for only 15 bucks! Sure it doesn't have the most professional sound, but hey it sounds great for punk! Especially Blink-182
