Critic Reviews

DigiTech RP250

soundonsound.com

The Digitech RP-250 is a versatile, easy-to-use multi-effects pedal that packs a punch with its Audio DNA2 chips, offering robust amp and effect modeling. Its intuitive design allows for seamless navigation through presets and custom settings, making it accessible for both beginners and advanced users. The built-in drum machine and USB audio interface enhance its appeal for recording guitarists. While presets may require tweaking to match individual setups, the RP-250 excels in delivering polished, diverse guitar tones. However, its reliance on non-robust connectors for live use is a downside, and users may find better results through monitors than typical guitar amps. Overall, it's a solid option for those seeking an affordable, feature-rich pedal.

DigiTech RP250 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The DigiTech RP250 packs a punch with its array of features, making it a bargain if you utilize its core sounds. The built-in expression pedal and large display are standout additions, enhancing usability and creativity. However, with so many patches and effects, one might question their necessity. The RP250 is a step up from its sibling, the RP150, offering extra distortion and amp simulations, pickup simulation, and unique effects like YaYa and rotary speaker simulation. Overall, this versatile unit is well-regarded for its sound quality and feature set.

a great little all-in-one unit

With vast array of effects, programmable built-in expression pedal, decent amp and cab modeling, the RP250 is great for recording, rehearsal, and gigs. The editing features are simple yet powerful in customizing your tone. The rear ports cover the basic needs for recording, rehearsal, gigs, and practice. The scrolling options are a little of a compromise, but can be worked out with some forethought. When coupled with computer editing software, RP250 allows further editing options as well as save and loading tones from a computer to the RP250.

P

Can be a pain, but overall really great

This was my first "guitar pedal" and I just bought it off a friend for a gig that I needed distortion for. It worked quite well until i started getting other effects. I now have 5 individual stomp boxes, but I still keep it on my board to replace any effects i don't have, or don't want to invest tons of money in. It can be a little awkward to use onstage, but overall it works well as long as you're not in the sun, then you can't see the screen.
