I enjoy this pedal so much!
I Bought this pedal about 20 years ago, and I'll never get rid of and not just because the names on the knobs are too funny! Apart for the ring modulator stuff, which is the main reason why I purchased it first instance, I soon found out that on totally different settings it delivers that nice fuzzy distorted tone which takes you straight back to the grungey stuff heard back in the '90!!

Crazy pedal
It freaks out your sound, make it dirty/ier. Useful as a distortion as well as the ring mod.

So, yeah, Larry, he chose the DOD Gonkulator. (...) But, the reason I chose that one specifically, kinda like, caught my attention is.. is the amazing quote from him! I don't know, I find it really funny. (...) So here's the quote from Ler: "I hit the switch on the Gonkulator and it made this great robot noise. The salesman said 'Yep, we haven't sold any of those.'" And that's how he chose it.
Page Hamilton of Helmet used the DOD FX13 Gonkulator pedal in the late 1990s, as detailed on Angelfire.
