Epiphone DR-100 review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

The Epiphone DR-100 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar is a remarkable budget-friendly instrument that delivers a rich and balanced tone, making it ideal for beginners and seasoned players alike. Its playability is commendable, thanks to a well-designed Slim Taper neck, while the dreadnought shape ensures impressive volume and projection. However, its all-laminate construction does mean it lacks the complexity of sound found in solid wood guitars. Additionally, heavy strummers may find it reaches its volume limit quicker than pricier models. Overall, it's an excellent choice for those seeking quality without breaking the bank.

Epiphone DR-100 Review and Simple Rundown - Guitar Chalk

guitarchalk.com

The Epiphone DR-100 offers solid value for beginners with its rich sound for chords and decent handling of higher notes. However, its lack of electronics and solid wood construction limits its versatility, making it less ideal for serious players or performances. At $150, it's a great entry point for those just starting out, but expectations should be tempered; beyond home practice and casual jamming, it may fall short.

Surprisingly well voiced

For a cheap guitar I am pretty amazed by this. Tons of Value, bang for your buck. I've recorded with it and been happy with the results. It can occasionally get a little bright and metallic at times and you may have to find slightly creative ways to make it sound smoother and fuller.
