Critic Reviews

AJ-220S Review: As someone who mostly plays rock and metal this first experience... | Epiphone | Acoustic Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Epiphone AJ-220S offers a remarkable blend of value and performance for budget-conscious guitarists. With its vintage sunburst finish and comfortable neck, it stands out aesthetically. The sound is solid, offering good sustain and clarity, though it won't rival high-end brands like Martin. The guitar's setup is commendable, with no major flaws, although quality control can be inconsistent. Reliability is decent, making it suitable for live gigs, but upgrading tuners and the nut might be necessary for serious use. Overall, it's a great choice for beginners or electric players dabbling in acoustics, though the slim neck may not suit everyone.

Epiphone AJ-220S Review - A Great Sounding Starter Guitar | GuitarSquid

guitarsquid.com

The Epiphone AJ-220S shines as an affordable entry-level acoustic guitar with a jumbo body design, offering a deep, rounded tone and solid projection. Its Sitka spruce top adds durability and vibrant sound, while the vintage sunburst finish enhances its visual appeal. Though it may buzz occasionally, its tonal range remains impressive. For under $350, it delivers excellent value, making it suitable for both beginners and advanced players. A minor flaw for a major win in sound and style.

The best 200$ I have EVER spent.

I bought this guitar on the first day of high school some years ago expecting nothing more than a beater to leave in my locker for the next 3 years. I was wrong. This guitar is one of the nicest sounding and best playing acoustics I've ever played, the spruce top brings out all the best features of your playing and the satin neck is silky smooth. As I said before, I left this in a locker for 3 years and I came out unscathed by the end, absurdly durable, Cannot recommend enough.
