Description

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY: This former fuzz intelligence officer has snuck across our borders and is ready to trade state secrets for its freedom. Bringing with it all the fuzz it could pack in this little case, it packs a punch like no other. Classic Russian muff tones can certainly be had, but that's not what has the Kremlin sweating this breach.

The independent "Pre" linear clean boost pushes the fuzz into full saturation at the touch of a button (notably, it also works standalone, but we really shouldn't leak that little secret to the public at large). Mid tones can be shaped from the full classic mid scoop, through flat mids all the way down to a mid hump.

Classic silicon clipping gives you the breakup you know and love, switch to LED clipping for a more open attack, or (if you dare) go full Red Dawn by lifting the clipping diodes all together. Unbutton the hood and adjust the signal saturation via a trimpot on the PCB. And last but not least, enter the secret code to unlock the fuzz feedback mode -- a highly interactive and dare we say, dangerous, fuzz revolution.

Features:

Classic four-stage transistor Fuzz Independent linear pre-boost. Special "Feedback" mode unlocks crazy tones 3-way clipping switch Mids control gives full control over tone Neutrik top-mount jacks Soft-touch switching 9V Center-negative standard power supply Made In USA

Quick Hit: Foxpedal Defector Fuzz Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

Foxpedal’s Defector Fuzz offers a modern twist on the classic Russian Big Muff, delivering a gritty boost and a four-stage transistor fuzz with flexible tone controls. Its standout feature is the mid control, allowing for a versatile range from scooped to classic Muff sounds. The pedal excels in delivering a rich, beefy tone, especially in LED mode, and maintains a fat, saturated sound even when cranked. While the review doesn't point out any significant drawbacks, some users may miss additional customization options. Overall, the Defector Fuzz is praised for its creative tone controls, rock-solid construction, and value for those seeking a robust fuzz pedal experience.
