Gretsch G5622T Electromatic Review – Guitars For Idiots

guitarsforidiots.com

The Gretsch Electromatic G5622T dazzles with its stunning Walnut Stain finish and delivers classic Gretsch tones at a reasonable price. Its Hilo’Tron pickups and Bigsby tremolo system provide a versatile sound palette, especially through a cranked tube amp. However, the Bigsby compromises tuning stability, and the price feels slightly inflated. Despite minor drawbacks, it's a solid choice for those seeking Gretsch's signature style without the hefty price tag.

G5622T Electromatic Review: In my opinion, the G5622T is priced just a bit too... | Gretsch | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Gretsch Electromatic Center Block G5622T dazzles with its classic look and rich sound, thanks to Hilo'tron pickups and quality craftsmanship. While it captures vintage tones beautifully, the drop in clarity compared to Filter'trons and occasional tuning issues are drawbacks. Despite being slightly overpriced, the guitar's style, solid construction, and versatility make it a compelling choice for live gigs.

Overall a great guitar but not like too many other Gretsch guitars

Out of the box it was very nicely detailed. I like the flat fretboard. It is definitely a different feeling playing this. The variability of having 6 possible pickup combinations is very nice too. The bigsby is top quality. The volume pots were not, and neither are the pickup switches - but it could be a lot worse. Tuners are great.

Tone-wise, it is definitely a different animal. Most combinations, you will get a much bassy-er tone than you might expect. It is not a go-to guitar, but it has its go-to moments.
