The guitar was modified at Cobra Guitars in New York City. “He added a little armrest plate there. This is another great guitar. Rich just loves the Gretsch guitars. He's just a big fan of them…I don't know if you've ever seen in the Black Falcons how bright they are. They're blinding almost when you get them. I don't know what he did, if he painted over it. He really dulled it out. Rich just loves what he does to them.”

I’ve got my old Black Falcon, a beautiful Gretsch guitar that certainly is reminiscent of Danny’s work.

Guitar.com reveals that Lofgren used the guitar on the recording of "Canerican" of the "Barn", 2021 album with Neil Young and the Crazy Horse. It is also revealed in the interview that the guitar was used on Neil Young's 2019 album "Colorado":

“On Canerican, I went to the Black Falcon,” he adds. “I love that sound. I’ve used that too on stage with Neil and Crazy Horse the past couple years, kinda instead of the White Falcon-Buffalo Springfield thing, I’ve got a Black Falcon with the little gold lame Vegas-Elvis touch. That felt great there. It was fun to crank up and start going at it. Always in the back of my mind is, ‘Man, if we could just get on the road and have some of those songs turn into eight to ten-minute epics.’ You don’t want to force that, it just kind of happened with Welcome Back. I expect it to happen with all of those live.”

We have a Gretsch electro-acoustic. Like I said before, on the new album there are a few songs where the sounds are a little bit different, and I think the Gretsch hollow-body, the Black Falcon kinda vibe, suits a couple of the songs really well, and obviously the acoustics. We got through a bunch of songs into the setlist, and we found that a lot of the older songs were tuned a whole step down and the whole new record is in standard tuning. So the way we had the setlist on the first night, there were just way too many guitar changes and it just messed up the flow of the show.
