Praised for its impressive sound and solid build, it's a budget-friendly choice that doesn't skimp on quality. Jasmine S35 Review - Takamine Review

takaminereview.com

The Jasmine S35 by Takamine is a budget-friendly acoustic guitar that surprises with its quality craftsmanship and sound. At under $100, it offers a bright, consistent tone and a sturdy build, making it ideal for beginners and seasoned players seeking a reliable travel or practice guitar. Its dreadnaught design ensures plenty of volume, though it lacks a cutaway for high fret access and comes with subpar strings. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Jasmine S35 is a standout choice in its price range, providing great value and performance.

Jasmine S35 Acoustic Guitar Review | KidGuitarist

kidguitarist.com

The Jasmine S35 Acoustic Guitar punches well above its weight for a beginner's instrument. At around $100, it offers solid build quality, easy playability, and a surprisingly good sound that rivals guitars in the $300 range. Its lightweight body and slim neck make it user-friendly for kids and teens. While it has a few typical budget guitar issues, like a tendency to go out of tune, these are minor and manageable. A great choice for budding guitarists on a tight budget, it provides excellent value without overwhelming financial commitment.

Great guitar for the price range

Okay, now don’t get me wrong, in no way is this comparable to a gibson, or taylor, or martin, but for around $120cad, this guitar is absolutely incredible! I bought this guitar for something i could use to travel with, a guitar that i wouldn’t be upset if it became scratched or a bit damaged, but oh boy was i wrong about it. I’ve owned a yamaha fg800 as my main acoustic for 2 years, and the jasmine one is comparable to a $350 guitar! I’m so impressed and i would recommend this for a beginner or intermediate player!

Great for what it is, a guitar for those who aren't sure if they want to commit to the instrument

This was my first guitar, I bought it brand new for $90, which is a great price for this guitar.

The guitar is a laminate body, not a real wood one, which gives it a harsher tone than higher end acoustics, that having been said though, it is far from a bad sounding guitar. As for how it feels, the neck is relatively thin, which is great for someone starting out who haven't become acclimated to chords, especially barre chords, the tuning pegs are a bit stiff, but that's not a huge problem, The dreadnought body is standard issue, not my favorite shape, but that's incredibly subjective.

From the factory it had a high action, but that's nothing that can't be solved with a set up from a local store, or hell, even yourself if you feel adventurous.

All in all it's not a bad guitar, especially considering the price, if you can find one used that's all the better. But I would recommend shopping around for a used, real wood guitar for the ~$100 you could get this guitar for.
