Description

Simple, unique sounding, spring-style reverb with subtle modulation and the ability to self oscillate in creative, user controlled fashions. Create euphoric and meditative textures with character and tact, or drown out your thoughts completely in a sea of gaussian noise.

Turn the "Numb" control down and "Dwell" up for self-oscillating nirvana! If desired, it will continue to self oscillate while bypassed, allowing the user to trigger blasts of chaotic sound with just a click of the footswitch.

The Proverb also provides the user with the ability to dynamically control the self oscillation rate or the "Dwell" amount via an expression pedal (Moog EP or equivalent).

  • Owners note a slight volume drop in the dry signal when the Numb control is in the upper half of its range.

    Source
  • Some owners experience a noticeable dry volume drop when adjusting the mix control on the Proverb XS, which can affect overall tonal balance.

    Source
  • A user notes the Levitation does not cause dry signal loss and provides a bright reverb with appealing modulation, unlike the Proverb's volume drop issues.

    Source

Build quality

  • Some users find the top-mounted jacks too close together, which could cause cable management issues in tight pedalboard setups.

Mantic Effects Proverb review on pedal-of-the-day.com

pedal-of-the-day.com

The Mantic Effects Proverb Reverb is a reverb pedal that stands out with its bold, unique tones and innovative controls. While the Mix knob is straightforward, blending wet and dry signals, the Numb and Dwell knobs offer a range of sounds from sweet self-oscillation to lush, warm reverb. The pedal's expression jack enhances versatility, allowing real-time control over reverb dynamics. Handmade with high-quality components, it delivers a crystal-clear signal. However, the unconventional control labels might be confusing for some users. Overall, it's a standout choice for those seeking creative and powerful reverb effects.
