Midi Fighter Spectra by DJTechTools [Gear Review] – EARMILK

earmilk.com

With its vibrant arcade buttons and robust build, the MIDI Fighter Spectra is a standout in the world of MIDI controllers. DJTechTools has crafted a customizable piece of gear that not only satisfies the needs of modern DJs but also invites them into a thriving community. While its arcade-style interface might not suit everyone's taste compared to MPC pads, the Spectra makes up for it with its durability and lightning-fast response. The DIY customization options and strong support for Traktor Remix Decks add to its allure. Despite these strengths, its appeal may be niche, catering primarily to those who value aesthetics and community engagement. Overall, the Spectra blends style with substance, making it a valuable tool for forward-thinking DJs.

Great for DJing, macros, and shortcuts.

This device is awesome for people who need concrete buttons. As a jazz and R&B producer and performer, this has limited use as a midi musical device for performing, especially since it lacks velocity. This is great for making shortcuts and macros to help with music production and mixing, though.

Why doesn't DJTT still make this?

literally.... why not??? it's the best controller I've ever bought. I use it for DJ sets to trigger FX and in my live shows to trigger visuals sometimes. It was fully custom and is still going strong to this day!!! The 64 is basically 4 of these put together... so why not take some apart and make more spectras?!?! >.>

Best Controller for finger drumming

This is definitely one of the best controllers for extreme finger drummers. It is easy on your fingers but be aware that it is noisy (clicks) so you may be that annoying person jamming away in the cafe :-P

jimmarchi1

I thought finger drumming was just something me and my son did sometimes, I had no idea there was gear to take advantage of it.... although this looks like something I could build myself....

djdumusic

I use this to launch effects for my video show and control effects.
