Professional control for Ableton Live.
Launchpad Pro is the professional grid performance instrument. Create dynamic, expressive performances in Ableton Live or any other music software. Use the enhanced 8x8 grid of RGB velocity and pressure-sensitive pads to trigger and combine clips, play dynamic beats and melodies, and even control external MIDI hardware. Novation understand the pressures of performing live. That's why they have made it as easy as possible to control Ableton Live, by building four simple modes into Launchpad Pro, which streamline everything for you:
Session Mode: immediately trigger and combine your clips
Note Mode: create dynamic beats and play the grid just like an instrument
Device Mode: easily apply effects to your performance
User Mode: create unique custom performances and layouts
The whole instrument is designed to keep you focused on your performance. It lets you easily and immediately apply effects (Device Mode), while dipping in and out of specific mixer controls at the touch of a button. Of course, if you want to get really creative, download a growing library of Max for Live devices, and control them using your Launchpad Pro.It's sleek, lightweight and tough enough that you can throw it in your bag and know it will survive even the roughest gigs. It also comes with everything you need to get started (cables and software): just plug it in and start making music.
I purchased this because I had not heard about the PUSH2 beforehand. The Launchpad Pro's advantage is its ability to be open. Where Push has an intense integration with Ableton Live, Launchpad Pro allows you to do so much more with other possible options. With the Launchpad Pro you can control external hardware, you are also able to custom program the mappings to fit your needs, where you don't have this kind of flexibility with Push2.
While you have this amount of control, the built in Live capability out of the box works flawlessly without having to do much other than selecting the hardware device within Ableton. You can be up and running with Launchpad Pro within seconds of starting.
What's even greater about this device is the hardware itself. A lot of thought went into building this for durability. The pads are stiff while allowing pressure and velocity sensitivity not found in the original Launchpads.
Its Not Everyday that u can use Technology for your Tracks , Audio & Voice with Recording , this Kit jus takes it to another level of Sophistication wen it comes to Music Production & Live Setups . love working on the Pads and you have a fun time experimenting with the diff sounds for the Lead Key / Drum Playing for instant Jamming sessions ,
If you're a person that loves to make music and everything and is starting out. First of all, this is not a synth or anything. This is a controller. It doesn't make any sound unless it's on a DAW. If you just come for the light shows and stuff. I am totally fine with that. It's like a little hobby. I use this for making drum loops and other stuff. I recommend this for people making beats or anything. If you're still thinking about buying it. That's totally fine with me.
This controller has excellent compatibility with Ableton, but lacks features in FL Studio (and ease of use). Optimisation for other DAWs would be useful in a future product.
