Description

The Nux Mini Core Brownie Distortion pedal is a compact powerhouse that channels the legendary British rock tones of the 1970s into your rig. With its specially designed BJT input stage, this pedal captures the essence of vintage rock by introducing a natural “break-up” as the preamp tube distorts. This results in a warm, dynamic tone that feels as organic as it sounds. The Brownie goes beyond the ordinary by employing a hybrid circuit design that combines pre-amp and power tube distortion characteristics, offering an authentic tube-like experience in a pedalboard-friendly size.

One of the standout features of the Brownie is its asymmetrical clipping circuit, which mimics the nuances of a real tube amplifier, delivering a rich, layered sound that maintains a tight bottom-end. This pedal's low-pass tone control filter recreates the famed Variac effect, allowing you to fine-tune your tone with precision and ease. Whether you're chasing the crispy high-end or a rounded-off vintage warmth, the Brownie's tone control offers unparalleled flexibility. Additionally, the power clipping circuit, crafted from a modern low-noise op-amp and dual red LEDs, ensures smooth, symmetrical clipping that enhances both halves of your signal. To top it all off, the true bypass circuit with a high-quality TPDP mechanical foot-switch promises pristine signal clarity when disengaged, making the Nux Mini Core Brownie Distortion a must-have for any guitarist looking to add a touch of classic rock flair to their sound.

Good enough.

You can hardly hear the distortion when gain's at the nine o'clock position. I always have to keep it higher just to hear it. It's good enough for a beginner, but your tone possibilities with this are very limited.
