I like it
Previously, when I was recording in a studio in my city, there was this tube head with a cabinet .. and to be honest, it’s a very cool amplifier, although it wasn’t very suitable for the music I made because of its “low end”, but in my opinion it’s excellent for a studio or rehearsal space option !

I have the new 6505 1992 Original and it's a monster!!! Metal machine!!!
A machine made to kill.
What can I say? When it comes to brutal metal guitar tone, Peavey 6506 is an absolute classic and class for itself. The amonunt of powerful, beefy tone it generates could feed Africa for, like, a decade.

In this video producer Dave Otero talks about how on every album he has worked on with Cattle Decapitation they have used a 6505. On the newest album (as of 2019) Death Atlas he used the 6505 in conjunction with a Hi-Watt Custom Super-Hi 50. "After tracking and as I was getting into the mix I did feel the need to blend in a tone with more saturation a little bit more of a modern kind of shape, so I did reamp through the 6505 and we just blended that in probably about even in the mix...the 6505 definetly saturates more, has a little bit of a wider spetcrum, goes a little bit deeper, has crispier highs, where the slighly more vintage tone of the Hi-watt just fills in those mids..."

The gain was coming from the 6505 and then we rolled back the gain on the Uberschall to give more of a crunch and tighten everything up. They're brilliant made, whereas with a lot of other amps you have a good one or a bad one."
Bogner Triple Giant thru Mesa Boogie Strategy 400 (ABY Pedal) mixed with a Peavey 6505. I like to have the mids & highs of the Bogner at around 1 or 2 O'clock, and the Lows at 1 O'clock, exclusively thru the Sharp Gain channel. The 6505 was used to fill out the tone with more dirt and fatness.
