Sonic LAB: Plogue Chipsynth OPS7 - Forensic DX7 Recreation

sonicstate.com

Plogue Chipsynth OPS7 stands out as a meticulous replication of the classic DX-7, capturing its quirks and iconic sound with impressive accuracy. The attention to detail is commendable, featuring authentic envelope stepping and faithful operator math, giving users a true retro experience. However, this dedication to emulation comes with a caveat—the inherent flaws of the original instrument are also present, which may deter some users seeking a more polished sound. At a reasonable price point, it's a nostalgic nod for DX-7 fans, though those expecting modern refinements might want to proceed with caution.
