Examining PRS S2 Standard 22: Can a PRS Go Punk Rock? | Ultimate Guitar

ultimate-guitar.com

The PRS S2 Standard 22 is a versatile workhorse with a punchy sound profile, thanks to its 58/15 "S" humbuckers, making it ideal for both stage and studio. It impresses with its sonic clarity and touch-sensitivity, all while being affordably priced at $1699. The guitar's comfortable neck and excellent tuning stability add to its appeal. Although not as standout as the Silver Sky, it delivers everything needed from a double-cut guitar. The Mahi Blue finish and solid build quality further enhance its desirability. Overall, this guitar gets a punk rock stamp of approval for its balance of performance and price.

PRS S2 Standard 22 Tobacco Unfinished w/out the Doves!

This guitar sounds amazing and plays beautifully w/out those Godforsaken doves(this one has dot inlays). The Coil-tap on the back puts you in Tele territory. It's American and only 999 Bucks! The unfinished model is almost as light as an SG as opposed to the painted or charcoal S22's. The neck is perfect and the G string never falls out. I've had it in Drop C# Standard for 48hrs and it has stayed in tune perfectly. This is by far the best guitar for under 2k you can buy and it's one of the best I've owned. I put it up against a few Gibson 2020 models as well as other pricey PRS guitars. I could not justify the cost and I already own an Armada that I'm scared to ding up. Not this baby! Oh... and It shreds too. The PRS Tremolo is probably my favorite now.
