Critic Reviews

SE Marty Friedman Review: Overall, I love it, especially when playing rhythm: it sounds great,... | Paul Reed Smith | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The PRS SE Marty Friedman electric guitar is a mixed bag. It boasts high-quality materials and a remarkable sound, particularly excelling in rhythm play. The fixed bridge is reliable, and the guitar is visually striking with its sleek design. However, the cumbersome heel design hinders access to upper frets, making it less ideal for lead solos, and the neck finish might not appeal to those favoring satin. While the stock pickups are decent, they might not satisfy tone purists. This guitar is perfect for Friedman fans or rhythm players, but those needing full fret access should look elsewhere.

theGUITARaddict: PRS SE: Marty Friedman

theguitaraddict.blogspot.com

The PRS SE Marty Friedman guitar offers a commendable balance of simplicity and playability. Its meaty, wide neck profile and low action are tailored for speed, making it a joy for fast players. The adjustable bridge enhances muting ease, while the pickups provide versatile, though not particularly distinctive, tones. Quality control shines, rivaling its American counterparts, and the price point is fair for the quality offered. However, the star fretboard markers might not appeal to everyone. Overall, a solid choice for those seeking a reliable instrument without heavy endorser branding.
