Critic Reviews

FM 212 DSP Review: If it were stolen or lost, I would be disappointed because... | Fender | Guitar Amplifiers | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

The Fender FM 212DSP is a powerhouse for its price, boasting 100 watts and versatile DSP effects, making it a solid choice for blues and rock players. Its standout feature is the ability to model different amps, although this requires frequent tweaking for optimal sound. While its clean tones are commendable, it struggles with acoustic settings, producing unwanted noises. The amp shines as a robust platform for effects pedals, enhancing its value as a reliable gig companion. Despite some limitations in onboard effects, its durability and power make it a worthy investment, especially if found under $250.

Good Workhorse

This was my first 100 watt amp, and I have to tell you, is really really good, and does the job. Of course it's solid state characteristics make it sound worse than a tube amp (fender has a couple of those) but still decent, it has a lot of build in effect, reverb, trem, delay, flanger, etc... also it comes with a thing fender like to call, amp type, you can select from a variety of classic amps, from Fender Tweed, to some Blackface types, Orange- ish, Vox-ish, Vintage Marshall-ish, Modern Marshall-ish, some Hot Rod like Fender DeVille, boutique amps like Egnater, a couple heavy gain amps, like EVH 5150-ish and Peavy-ish, and Fender Acoustasonic sound. It includes it footswitch

Love it

I bought this amp used at a pawn shop and I've been using it as my main amp since the day I got it. Though I don't use many of the amp models on it, I use the built in effects regularly. This amp is a solid state amp and a lot of people will talk shit about amps simply for that reason but in my eyes, Its note the price or the brand or the overall type of amp that makes the player sound good, its the skill that player has learned and in time one can learn to forge great tone from any amp.
