Nice entry level 8 string

This was my first 8 string guitar. Had the stock pickups swapped by emg 808's and later to Seymour Duncan's Sentient and Pegasus (needless to say it it got MUCH better). Overall guitar feels quality made, I had the black one and it felt like a premium guitar. The tuners are the worst part of the hardware, but they get the job done. One thing I didn't like (for my style of playing) was the string spacing (nut width). I prefer it a bit wider like the Ibanez guitars, for for shredding it super comfortable, possibly better than the Ibanez. Had some issues with neck stability also, but I was a bit careless at the time also. Overall I truly enjoyed this guitar and recommend it for a first 8 string.

My first 8-string which, when I at first saw it, thought wouldn't be that good. Turns out it is quite the opposite.

An amazing starter 8-string for me, and definitely a great instrument. Plays and sounds great, it sits great on my lap, and looks great as well.

Amazing guitar for a great price.

This guitar looks amazing, the fret inlays look awesome. For an 8 string very easy to play, and keeps an amazing sound across all notes. I'd recommend .074+ gauge strings to avoid fretbuzz and to allow downtuning (eg. Drop E). Managed to play in multiple styles such as djent, death metal, funk, jazz, metalcore etc. Experimenting with slap is also fun which is a lot harder to do on a 6 or 7 string.

the only guitar i haven't impulsively sold

i love my Omen 8. after listening to Call of Duty ZOMBIES songs since CoD W@W, i knew i needed to learn songs like Beauty of Annihilation. upon learning that Kevin was using an 8 string for these songs, i saved some birthday cash and bought one of these bad boys on sale for $370. the guitar is beautiful (i own the black version), and the neck feels great. the only downsides i can find with this guitar are the pickups being pretty damn muddy - especially the bridge - which is a shame, and the hardware looking fairly dull. however, it is still an overall great instrument for the price range, and i likely will never sell it, even if i bought a nicer 8.

Schecter Omen 8/ Amazing 8 string

active pickups, maple neck, and 8 strings, what more can you want. i have this in white, the guitar is amazing, stays in tune constantly, is a little heavy though (but its an 8 string!) price point is awesome on these too

Very "okay"

This absolutely needs a pickup swap, but the wide neck makes it super easy for doing advanced stuff like tapping, sweeping and thumping. People seem to sell them in great condition online for good prices so I'd recommend getting one used. Also maybe it's just me, but the machine heads seem a little weak also.
