An excellent headphone for music production!

I bought these headphones 10 years ago. I wanted to take music production a bit more seriously, but I didn't have the money to buy studio monitors. Fortunately, this was a great buy because I've been able to mix my music without issue. Compared to actual studio monitors, it doesn't have the same "width" or stereo image as studio monitors.

Before this, I used the earphones that came with my iPod, so hearing music with this was a massive upgrade. The high frequencies are much more noticeable and "crisp" but they do not cause fatigue. As for me, since I produce electronic dance music, the low frequencies are not very audible nor "felt". It just sounds quiet. That doesn't mean it can't produce these frequencies, but it's best heard in acoustic instruments like pianos, drums, stringed instruments, and such. Therefore, if you produce dance music, you will struggle or be unable to monitor the low frequencies; it is better to buy a dedicated studio monitor for these lower frequencies. The sound quality is overall is superb. Like I said before, they are comparable to studio monitors in its ability to reproduce all the frequencies.

The build quality is very good. It's sturdy and lightweight. I use these almost daily. The padding is very soft and comfortable and began to wear down only about 4 years ago which exceed my expectations. One can wear these for a long time with no discomfort. At times, it would feel like you're not even wearing them.

Overall, these are some great headphones. One can produce and mix a track without issue, but if you produce a very bass heavy music genre, then you may struggle to mix the lower frequencies correctly. In my experience, I've made tracks where the bass sounded fine on these headphones only to realize that the bass sounds too loud in another set of headphones, so I've had to compensate with the fact that the bass needs to sounds quiet so that it sounds fine in other sound systems. Other than that, I don't have any other complaints. It's a very good pair of headphones for any producer. However, I do wish it had a better bass response, but that may be due to its open back design.

Great Sound

I was originally looking for a pair of Beats by Dre, and found these. Very clear, and are good for listening to music or monitoring yourself in a quiet enough environment. I've found these are good for tracking vocals, as they make it easier to hear myself and stay in tune rather than closed-back headphones. I've had the same pair for about seven years, and I definitely abused them when I was younger, but they're very durable and have survived everything the've been through.

I highly recommend these headphones, and they are well worth the money.

so comfy

the earcups are so soft and fit my huge ears. the bass response is not great but i like them best for vocal monitoring and checking panning and some detail work (although i prefer monitors)
