Spawn Nitro 100 Head

guitarinteractivemagazine.com

The Splawn Nitro 100 Head is a top-tier amp for high-gain enthusiasts, boasting remarkable craftsmanship and a dynamic sound profile. Its versatility shines through with a clean channel that delivers both sparkling cleans and chunky tones, while the overdrive channels offer unparalleled clarity and tightness even at high gain settings. The inclusion of a resonance and presence control allows for further tonal customization, making it adaptable across genres from nu-metal to blues. However, its premium features come with a hefty price tag, which might deter budget-conscious buyers. Overall, the Nitro earns high praise for being one of the finest high-gain amps available, offering inspiring performance that justifies its cost.

From an interview in 2011:

"What amps are you using live these days?"

"A Splawn Nitro. A small company in the US. Basically it sound like a Marshall 800 with tremendous balls – much more low end than a regular Marshall. I like definition in the upper mid range – not too fizzy at the top.""

Yeah, there’s a lot of different stuff going on, and we used a lot of different guitar amps. Many of the rhythm parts were done with a Diezel VH4, and for a lot of the main overdubs we used a Splawn Nitro, which is basically a hotrodded Marshall with KT88 power tubes, which give it a bigger sound more like the JCM 800s.
