Description
Introducing the Vertex Effects Steel String Supreme - a versatile gear designed for the music enthusiasts and professionals alike. This impressive device is not just a guitar pedal but a full-fledged amplifier circuit housed in a compact, pedal-sized box. It's a 100% analog solid state preamplifier, designed to inject rich, warm tones into your music.
Derived from Vertex's standard Steel String MKII, the Supreme model boasts an independent EQ section and five additional tone-shaping controls. This flexible device is designed to fit seamlessly into your setup - whether you use it directly with your mixer or interface, pair it with your digital modeling amplifier, or use it in front of your tube amplifier.
The Steel String Supreme excels in delivering Mayer-style compressed clean and lead tones, replicating the sounds of a legendary six-figure tube amp. It's characterized by a fat, clean, compressed sound that infuses your signals with tube-like harmonics as you dial up the gain. The pedal's active EQ and Bright/Deep + Rock/Jazz switches offer a wide spectrum of tone-shaping capabilities, from subtle fattening and clean compression to full-on overdrive.
Key Features:
- Based on model #001 of an original run of legendary 6L6 blues machines
- A true amp in a box – designed to go into tube amp or direct to Cab Sim/IR Loader
- Inspiring touch sensitivity, warmth, and sparkle
- Versatile Gain and Level controls make this a capable clean boost or full-on overdrive
- Active EQ, Bright/Deep switch, and Rock/Jazz switch supply plenty of tone-shaping potential
- Rugged metal housing
- Authentic D-style labels
- True bypass switching preserves your signal between uses
- Designed in California

Pretty awesome
Is it a Dumble? Well, no. But its sounds great to me thru a clean BJR. The EQ side works once dialed in as a good boost. I bought used and gambled on it but its highly used now. Dynamic to touch, a bit of glass, and punches thru.
