Originally crafted in Westerly, Rhode Island, this vintage steel-string acoustic guitar is renowned for its warm, resonant tone, which has won the hearts of countless musicians over the decades.
The Guild D-25 showcases a solid mahogany top paired with a mahogany back and sides, creating a full-bodied sound that excels in both fingerpicking and strumming styles. Its dreadnought shape provides excellent volume and projection, making it perfect for both solo performances and ensemble settings. The rosewood fingerboard and bridge contribute to its smooth playability and articulate sound.

He can be spotted with a 1974 D-25M (mahogany) on different live videos. For example on the 2002 CMT Crossroads tv series where played with Elton John or the Sessions@AOL program. It has a big sticker on it that reads "Indianapolis Motor Speedway". This was also the guitar that was used for the "Heartbreaker" album.

This is a photo that I took from the Destroyer solo show in Hamden, CT on 5/9/23. Dan was playing what looks to be a Guild D-25 in Cherry Red.
Seen here with his Guild D-25 in this photo from his performance at Larimer Lounge.
