The built-in noise generator and LFO with six selectable waveforms offer unparalleled sound manipulation, while the two ADSR envelopes (filter and VCA) promise dynamic performances. The Poly Mod section takes modulation to a new level, allowing seamless control of oscillator A and filter frequency.

With an impressive storage capacity for 400 presets, the Pro-800 allows you to save and recall your favorite settings with ease. The switchable Unison mode and arpeggiator further enhance the versatility of this synthesizer, making it a worthy addition to any musician's toolkit.

    Source
  • The Pro-800 is noted to have a plainer pad sound compared to the Dreadbox Nymphes, which has a fuzzier, Juno-like pad sound.

    Source
  • The Pro-800 is described as lacking the nuance and personality of higher-end analog synths like the Prophet 5.

    Source
  • The Pro-800's filter uses Coolaudio 3320 chips, providing a sound closer to the premium Prophet series rather than the Prophet-600 design.

  • The Pro-800's default envelope curve is slow linear, but it can switch to a fast exponential curve for different sound shaping.

    Source
  • The Pro-800 lacks extensive modulation options, which some users find limiting compared to synths like the OB-6.

    Source
  • The Pro-800 has a pseudo FM capability allowing osc2 to modulate osc1, with eight combinations of sawtooth, triangle, or square waveforms.

    Source
  • The Pro-800 can be controlled remotely, bypassing the slow Value encoder, using third-party software like Swumpf for improved usability.

    Source
  • All Pro-800 parameters can be controlled via MIDI, allowing for extensive integration with DAWs for real-time adjustments.

    Source

Other

    Source
  • Membrane buttons are criticized for lacking tactile feedback and durability, reminiscent of outdated designs from the 1980s.

Behringer Pro-800 REVIEW: The eight-voice monster has arrived! - gearnews.com

gearnews.com

The Behringer Pro-800 delivers an impressive eight-voice polyphonic experience at an unbeatable price, making it a standout choice for both studio and stage. Its solid design and intuitive interface allow for quick sound design, producing everything from lush pads to punchy basses. However, the synth does have a few drawbacks: the knobs feel somewhat cheap and wobbly, and it lacks stereo output and extensive CV options. Despite these shortcomings, the Pro-800 shines with its versatility and user-friendly features. Overall, it’s a fantastic addition for anyone seeking a robust analog synth without breaking the bank.

The Behringer Pro-800, an affordable polyphonic synthesizer | Solidtrax

solidtrax.nl

The Behringer Pro-800 synthesizer offers an impressive range of features for its price, making it a notable entry into the affordable polyphonic synthesizer market. With 8 voices, modernized modulation options, and a user-friendly interface, it’s a solid choice for beginners exploring analog sounds. However, its firmware issues have raised concerns, as early adopters often find themselves troubleshooting updates rather than just enjoying their synth. Additionally, some may miss the more aggressive sound character of the original Prophet-600. Overall, it’s a fantastic deal for the price-conscious musician, but potential buyers should be prepared for a few teething problems.

Great vintage sounding analog

It's a great box that we use for fat basslines and warm vintage pads. The only con is the knobs that are of a somewhat bad quality, some are harder to turn and some turn really easy. We also don't like the preset knob and how slow it is to change presets.
