Nothing else like them left.
I have 5 of these in use in my studio. 6 Ins - 8 Outs: there are quite versatile and inexpensive now. I have replaced the displays in mine with new bright OLEDs and the units are like new. If you need a MIDI router / patchbay, pick up one of these!

"The midi out of the TD10 and D Drum3, and Notron sequencer went into an MX8 midi patchbay, this allowed me the speed of direct analog input to the V & D brains, but the flexibility to route and merge anything via midi. Additional midi sound sources I used were the Alesis DM pro and an Emu Audity 2000 (the audity was never used on the record). I could also access my samplers, an old Kurzweil K2000 and a Roland S760, plus sounds in realtime from my beatboxs, an MC303 and a Tribe ER1. However for this Crim record no beatboxes were used. ProjeKct X is a different story....beatboxes survived!!!"

Most of the album was recorded and mixed in Brook's flat, the guitarist having turned a spacious living room into a home studio centred around a 24-channel Allen & Heath Sabre mixing desk and a Fostex E16 multitrack, with monitoring via Yamaha NS1000s. Along with footpedals and rack-mount effects units, the studio includes an Atari 1040ST, C-Lab's Notator software, a Digital Music MX8 MIDI patchbay, a Yamaha DX7 synth with TX802 synth module, a Roland R8M drum module and (recently-acquired) S770 sampler.
In the January 1990 issue of "Keyboard Magazine," the right-side column on page 37 mentions that Alan Pasqua used a Digital Music Corp MX 8 MIDI Patchbay as part of his rig with the band Giant. The article was authored by Alan di Perna.
