Description
Unleash the beast with the DOD Chthonic Fuzz. This pedal is designed to produce fat, corpulent, fudgy, and sludgy fuzz tones that pair perfectly with single-coil, P90, gold-foil, and De-Armond style pickups. It also works great with PAF-style humbuckers. This fuzz was designed with brighter guitars and amps in mind.
The Chthonic Fuzz is based on a beloved single-knob '70s fuzz circuit. However, it doesn't stop there. DOD has added a subtle tone control (Lustre), and a separate gain control (Fuzz). This has yielded a simple yet powerful fuzz with an earthy, dark flavor. The Chthonic Fuzz uses straight-up transistor clipping with a pair of 2N2222 transistors, allowing guitar volume knob clean-up like other classic fuzzes, but the Chthonic is from a different dimension.
The Chthonic's Kraken/Cthulhu graphics are courtesy of the same artist that did the Carcosa Fuzz art. The Chthonic is a psychotic dizygotic dark companion to the Carcosa Fuzz. Twin suns sink behind the lake, and the Chthonic Fuzz rises to create a new sound.
