Critic Reviews

Dynaudio BM5A MkII

soundonsound.com

Dynaudio's BM5A MKII monitors deliver a clean, smooth sound with impressive bass, making them a solid choice for small studios. While they might lack some mid-range separation, their non-fatiguing high frequencies and realistic pricing justify the investment. If you're struggling to mix with these, it’s likely your room acoustics that need upgrading, not the speakers.

Review: Dynaudio Acoustics BM5A MKII — AudioTechnology

audiotechnology.com

The Dynaudio BM5A MKII studio monitors impress with their high-quality sound and reasonable pricing. They deliver smooth, warm low-end and clear, non-harsh mids. Handmade in Denmark, they offer improvements over their predecessor, such as a re-engineered woofer and a new tweeter waveguide. Despite minor drawbacks like the rear power switch and lack of detailed frequency control labels, these monitors shine with a broad sweet spot and loud output. Ideal for studio and surround sound systems, they provide a performance that could rival more expensive options.

Precision in the midrange sets this monitor apart

At the moment my main monitor system. I tried several models before buying the BM5As: Adam A7X, KRK VXT8... II find Dynaudios more precise in the middle range.

"...greeted us on our arrival and showed us the rooms in question, which were already kitted out with Cubase and Pro Tools computer systems, keyboards, bespoke touchscreen control surfaces and quad monitoring systems with modified Quested VS210 speakers for front L and R and Dynaudio BM5 MkII speakers for the rear L and R. Conversion to full 5.1 surround is apparently handled at a later stage in the production process."
