Compact, Powerful, and Versatile
When it comes to compact studio monitors, few can match the IK Multimedia iLoud Micro Monitors. Given the hype, we couldn't wait to get our hands on them.
Straight out of the box, the iLoud Micros impress with their sleek and sturdy build. The compact design is perfect for small studio setups or even as portable monitors for on-the-go musicians.
Feature-wise, these monitors are packed. The Bluetooth connectivity is a nice touch, making it easy to stream reference tracks wirelessly. The DSP settings and tweakable controls allow for some fine-tuning, and the fact that they can be mounted on microphone stands adds to their versatility.
In our tests, the sound quality truly exceeded expectations. For their size, these little speakers deliver a surprisingly clear, balanced, and detailed sound. The bass response, while not earth-shaking, is impressive given their dimensions. The high frequencies are crisp and articulate, making these suitable for a range of genres. However, they do lose some clarity at higher volumes, particularly in the low-end, and a faint hiss was noticeable, which we minimized using a decent DAC.
Overall, the iLoud Micros offer exceptional value for money. They deliver high-end audio quality at a fraction of the cost of most premium monitors, making them an excellent choice for home studios and casual listening. Professional musicians might find the lack of balanced inputs and the rigid cable off-putting, but for most users, these are minor drawbacks in an otherwise stellar package.

Impressive punch and definition
I was mostly decided on going to Genelecs 8010's, but after reading so many great reviews I had to give these one a try and see what the fuss was about, I would return them. Indeed they live to their reputation!
- Excelent price
- TINY speaker pair - great for a tight bedroom studio and travelling in it's small soft case.
- Provides full and detailed near field soundscape that's great for playing, mixing and listening to music
- Bass reflex wizardry make them sound way bigger then they actually are
- Plastic shell but overall robust construction with metal grills for the speakers and tweeters
- Bluetooth! So your girlfriend can also enjoy them!
- They don't rattle or make weird noises
I had the smallest Roland Jazz Chorus combo amp that had two 6.5 inch speakers in them, and I can confidently say these 3 inchers pack a SERIOUS punch and provide more than enough power to fill a small bedroom.
I bought them to play my guitar through my UAD Apollo Solo interface, using the Fender Tweed Amp or Marshall in the unison slot (for near zero latency) really give me the best sound and feel I ever had in my bedroom!
The advantage of such small speakers - besides their portability - is that you can get a very hi-fi and loud near field soundscape (like 1,5m away from you) and not cause the sound to propagate to much into your ceiling/floor/walls/neighbours house like a bigger speaker would.

These little speakers defy the laws of physics!
Bought them after reading so many positive reviews and was a bit skeptical when unpacking them as they look and feel like those cheap, plastic, no-brand PC speakers. Well a little bit better than the average pair of 20€ PC speakers but you get the point: they don't exactly look like professional studio reference speakers that will impress clients with their looks or physical appearance.
But that was until I switched them on... OMG, no idea how they pulled it off but these little speakers seem to defy the laws of physics!
Sure they're small, low powered and "only" go down to 55Hz (-3dB) and their 3" woofers won't do subs or move tons of air but that's not the intended purpose, they are (very) near field speakers. Good frequency response and stereo image. I'm comfortable doing 80% of the production and mixing work on them and only doing the last 20% on my main nearfield and headphones. I might complement them with the new Subpac and even get up to 85-90%...
And perhaps the best thing is that I can now work at night without disturbing the neighbors or the rest of the house as they sound very good when sitting at 1m away from them, sound even ok in the rest of the room but they are not moving enough air in order to notice the room acoustics or be disturbing outside the room. So I might end up making more music.
Note that this review is based on my first impressions after using them for a couple of days... I might come back to this review after using them for an extensive period...

Great
I've been owning YAMAHA NS10 earlier, but they were too big to me. Also I didn't able to control low frequencies on these.
iLoud micro are great! They're mobile, sounds big, have pretty nice low end, costs not that much, useful as multimedia, love it
