definitely more mid-field than near-field... and 4"? that's 'direct-field monitoring"... try backing everything up but the Tannoys, you may need speaker stands and logner cables to pull this off.

Nice for the price you pay.
Bought these last year, and I am fairly happy with them. The only problem I can find is that their frequency response is a little of. The low-mid range is kind of lacking and out of balance. I also wish they could have better response to frequencies below 50Hz
